R' Eliezer leaves the sukkah over the sheet
The sugya
The Rebbi read the maaseh of R' Eliezer, who spent Shabbos in the Upper Galil in the sukkah of Yochanan b'Rebbi Elai. Three times he was asked whether a sheet could be spread against the sun, and each time he changed the topic. When Yochanan spread the sheet anyway, R' Eliezer left. The Gemara asks how R' Eliezer could have been there at all given two of his own shitos, and answers each. It then asks why he did not resolve the sheet question from his own shita by pekak hachalon, and answers that there the plug is mevatel to the wall, which is not the case with the sheet. The shiur ended with a chazarah of the whole sugya.
